Description:
This course is designed for cardiothoracic radiologists, diagnostic radiologists, pulmonary medicine specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons,and fellows and residents
with an interest in cardiothoracic imaging. Because of the prevalence of diseases of the chest in the general population, the course will also be of value to internists and family physicians.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Discuss and illustrate established guidelines for the diagnosis and management of cardiothoracic diseases
Explain the role and new advances in imaging of cardiovascular diseases, including those affecting the coronary arteries, valves, myocardium, aorta, and pulmonary vasculature
Establish the importance of a multidisciplinary approach for diagnosing and treating patients with interstitial lung disease, lung nodules, and lung cancer
Recognize the role of imaging in lung cancer screening
Review imaging of patients with cardiopulmonary disease in acute, post-operative, and emergency scenarios
Identify pitfalls encountered in performance and interpretation of cardiothoracic imaging studies such as those directed towards lung nodules, interstitial lung disease, radiograph interpretation, and cardiovascular diseases
Describe current and emerging CT and MR techniques for both thoracic and cardiac applications and computer- aided methods such as artificial intelligence, radiomics, and quantitative analysis
Review quality improvement, workflow, faculty development, wellness initiatives, and topics applicable to clinical practice
